David Beckham will return to play in Major League Soccer for the Los Angeles Galaxy.
The England midfielder was hoping to make his loan to AC Milan permanent but the Italian club never came back to AEG with a second offer.
The deadline for a decision was imposed by MLS for today and both sides say they will adhere to it.
Tim Leiweke, president of Galaxy parent AEG, talked to the Associated Press:
We didn't receive an offer today. We will abide by the commissioner's wishes, so we are clear at this point that we don't want to have any further conversations.
Leiweke said that AC Milan didn't think Becks was worth the cost.
I know David is emotionally invested, but I don't think Milan really was that interested in spending the money we would have had to receive to compensate us for our losses.
So welcome back Goldenballs. We'll see you in March.
