David Beckham has been training in England in the hopes of being in Fabio Capello’s English side. It is believed that the Los Angeles Galaxy midfielder is most desperate to reach the 100 cap milestone – something that would happen in his next appearance – while it is also agreed that Mr. Posh Spice is still thinking he could have an impact in his nation’s side.
The squad for Capello’s first match in charge of England will be revealed on Saturday and here are two looks at which way the new boss might be leaning.
Reporting from Madrid for The Guardian, Sid Lowe has learned that Capello plans to leave Becks off his 22-man roster for next week’s Switzerland match because he doesn’t believe the midfielder is match fit.
Of course this report is in direct contrast to one that came out 36-hours earlier in The Independent that said the England boss was already dropping hints that Becks would be in the side.
I guess we’ll just have to wait and see.
Feel free to debate whether or not Beckham should play in the meantime.
